~ Thinking outside the sandbox ~

In drifting, shifting sands of white-washed time, memories are lost to now’s intent.  In lifting these weathered, time-worn hands, my mind remembers
the star’s bright descent,
takes me to the veil of,
edge of,
here.
I had never realized my own worth ’till every last vestige was taken away. That last drop of the
fear of the “me” inside, curled up and died,
and fell
to
the
earth
in a silently thundered and fully sundered way. And then, mote by mote with each point of light, re-forming this being ego sees
as
“me”.

The sands still slip, but the hands no longer grip at tenuous lessons, now I’d much rather
just
“be”.

I’ve been told and I believe
that awakening is different,
for each and every one of us,
and some of us,
forever
sleep.

So which existence, then, is better?
Eyes free of the Sandman’s grit? Or the dream of never seeing it? Connected,
Or not,
life’s ignorant fetter
will
drop
the chains
at each, last drawn breath,
and perhaps then,
is when,
true awareness is conceived…

About dragonkatet

Regarding the blog name, Dragon’s Dreams ~ The name comes from my love-affairs with both Dragons and Dreams (capital Ds). It’s another extension of who I am, a facet for expression; a place and way to reach other like-minded, creative individuals. I post poetry and images that fascinate or move me, because that’s my favorite way to view the world. I post about things important to me and the world in which we live, try to champion extra important political, societal and environmental issues, etc. Sometimes I wax philosophical, because it’s also a place where I always seem to learn about myself, too, by interacting with some of the brightest minds, souls and hearts out there. It’s all about ‘connection(s)’ and I don’t mean “net-working” with people for personal gain, but rather, the expansion of the 4 L’s: Light, Love, Laughter, Learning.
