Those Who Shine

Have you ever met someone, and, very shortly after meeting them, had the thought that they “Shone”? That they had some sort of special quality that made them “shine” more than most other people? It may have been something in particular that they said or did, or maybe it was something you couldn’t quite put a finger on, but you felt it deep in your gut, even so.

In my short life-time of what seems like forever, I have only met a handful of people that I would say had a brighter “shine” to them than others. We ALL shine, in our own special ways…we all have things that set us above the common denominators of man-kind. But what I’m talking about is something a little different…and it’s not even something that’s easy to describe or nail down as any particular trait.

How do you describe it? Is it an aura? A feeling about them? If it’s a feeling, what feeling? Immediate trust? A simple knowledge that they are “extra-special” for some reason? How do you know?

Have you ever met someone who fits this description? What made them “shine” to your “inner eyes”? Did they change your life?

I’m just curious how many other people have ever experienced this, and if it’s more common than I think.

Thanks for reading. 🙂

About dragonkatet

Regarding the blog name, Dragon’s Dreams ~ The name comes from my love-affairs with both Dragons and Dreams (capital Ds). It’s another extension of who I am, a facet for expression; a place and way to reach other like-minded, creative individuals. I post poetry and images that fascinate or move me, because that’s my favorite way to view the world. I post about things important to me and the world in which we live, try to champion extra important political, societal and environmental issues, etc. Sometimes I wax philosophical, because it’s also a place where I always seem to learn about myself, too, by interacting with some of the brightest minds, souls and hearts out there. It’s all about ‘connection(s)’ and I don’t mean “net-working” with people for personal gain, but rather, the expansion of the 4 L’s: Light, Love, Laughter, Learning.
