A Dragon’s Day

((I don’t often post my artwork, but came across this again not long ago, and since I haven’t been super inspired to write much lately, I thought it might be nice for this to see the light of day again. This was a project for a 2-D art class that my ex-husband was in, close to 20 years ago. I kept the original project because he did not want it. He drew the people (I still suck at drawing people) and I drew the rest. We both colored it with Prismacolors and markers and the cover was a combination of fabric, paper, paint and other stuff. The project was to make a picture book by hand. No words were allowed and it had to tell a complete story. We called it “A Dragon’s Day” and “he” (we) got an A+ on it. Enjoy. 🙂 ))

About dragonkatet

Regarding the blog name, Dragon’s Dreams ~ The name comes from my love-affairs with both Dragons and Dreams (capital Ds). It’s another extension of who I am, a facet for expression; a place and way to reach other like-minded, creative individuals. I post poetry and images that fascinate or move me, because that’s my favorite way to view the world. I post about things important to me and the world in which we live, try to champion extra important political, societal and environmental issues, etc. Sometimes I wax philosophical, because it’s also a place where I always seem to learn about myself, too, by interacting with some of the brightest minds, souls and hearts out there. It’s all about ‘connection(s)’ and I don’t mean “net-working” with people for personal gain, but rather, the expansion of the 4 L’s: Light, Love, Laughter, Learning.

How wonderful! Fun project and did such a great job…..lots of detail. Like how your dragons incorporate a sense of movement…..

I love the humour and irony in the story and the fact that it is told from the dragon’s point of view. I am a Water Dragon and feel great affinity with these mystical creatures – I’ve never felt that they are scary, just beautiful and powerful, as you have portrayed. You are a talented artist and story-teller, Corina – I would love to see more of your work! 🙂

    • dragonkatet says:

Thanks, Jacqueline! Yes, I wouldn’t have told it any other way. 😉 Like you, I feel affinity with dragons (always have), and although I wish I could claim it as my Chinese sign, alas, I am but a lowly metal pig. Thanks for coming by and for leaving such a nice comment! Perhaps I will post more of my art in the future.

🙂 Why, thanks, Cap’n! I actually AM working on another one. It’s almost finished, so maybe I will post it here when it is. Was kind of thinking of submitting it to TeeFury, although I don’t know if they would accept it. We shall see.
